Sleigh beds have 1 base (slats) where mattress sits which is then converted to solid base and gas lift is attached to it to make it into ottoman storage bed. There is no second base on sleigh bed design so when convereted to ottoman storage bed it needs to sit on the floor. which why we also provide floor baords when you buy the ottoman storage option
